🧠 Do Now (Warm-Up)
Do you already have all 5 things on the board? (personal email, school ID, parent/guardian contact info, home address, graduation year) Check with a partner if you're missing any -- we need them all today.
📋 Main Workshop / Lesson Sequence
- Do Now + supply check (5 min): confirm every student has what they need. Students missing information get a note home / are queued to finish next period with support.
- Mini-lesson (5 min): why NYC tracks CTE participation through Career Pathways, and how it can help them later (internships, transcripts, scholarships).
- Guided account creation (25 min): as a class, go to https://participants.careerpathways.nyc/ together. Project the steps. School access code: 09X403-000000. Students enter their own information at their own device while the teacher circulates.
- Troubleshooting & individual help (10 min): support students who are stuck on email verification, spelling of parent info, etc.
- Confirm and screenshot (5 min): each student screenshots or writes down their confirmation so we can verify everyone completed registration.

Teacher checklist: each student's name is checked off as 'registered' in the CPP system by the end of class (or flagged for follow-up).
Exit Ticket: Write one sentence: why might a college or employer care that you have a Career Pathways record?

🧩 Differentiation & Accommodations
English Language Learners: provide translated or bilingual glossaries, visuals, and sentence frames; pair with a peer for meaningful participation. Students with IEPs: provide extended time, step-by-step checklists, and one-on-one or small-group support as specified in each student's plan. Attention-related needs: break the task into smaller steps, use visual timers, and minimize distractions. Students who finish early: extend the task by adding a second design variation, mentoring a classmate, or writing a short reflection connecting today's skill to a career pathway.
