Short, on-the-board pacing slides for today's Do Now, agenda, vocabulary, and exit ticket -- the full detail lives in the handout above, not here.

🧑‍🏫 Substitute Teacher Guide

A scripted, step-by-step runsheet for today's class -- hand this to anyone covering the room who doesn't know the daily routine.

This is a real client, not a hypothetical one

Treat every request the same way a professional studio would treat a paying client: confirm the brief, communicate proactively, and get sign-off before production. The staff member's satisfaction is part of the grade.

🎯 Essential Question

📈 Learning Objectives

By the end of this lesson (2 Days), students will be able to:

  1. Present a draft to the requesting staff member clearly and professionally.
  2. Record specific, actionable feedback rather than vague impressions.
  3. Revise the work based on that feedback and obtain final sign-off before production.

📐 Standards Alignment

CDOS (Career Development & Occupational Studies)

Industry Standards (CCTC)

📚 Key Vocabulary

Sign-Off
A client's explicit approval that a design is finished and ready for production.
Revision Round
One complete cycle of presenting a draft, collecting feedback, and making changes.

🧰 Materials & Tools

🧠 Do Now (Warm-Up)

How would you professionally respond if a staff client said, "I don't like it, make it better" with no other details?

📋 Main Workshop / Lesson Sequence

This lesson spans 2 Days. Suggested pacing:

DayFocusPlan
Day 1Present & Log FeedbackDo Now (5 min): how would you professionally respond to vague feedback? Mini-lesson (8 min): how to present a draft and log feedback professionally -- this is the same "I notice / I wonder" habit built back in 9th/10th grade critique and rehearsed all through Grade 11's client projects, now running for real. Independent/team work (27 min): present the draft to the client (in person or via a shared link/email) and log their feedback specifically and completely. Debrief (5 min).
Day 2Revise & Sign-OffDo Now (5 min): what's one piece of feedback you're addressing today? Independent/team work (35 min): revise based on the logged feedback -- a real client asking for changes to a first draft isn't a sign anything went wrong; it's the job. Confirm sign-off (5 min): get final sign-off from the client before moving to production.

✅ Assessment & Exit Ticket

Feedback log checked for specific, actionable notes; final version checked against explicit client sign-off.

Exit Ticket: What is one piece of client feedback you got, and exactly what you changed because of it?

🧩 Differentiation & Accommodations

English Language Learners: model every step live, then check in one-on-one; provide translated materials and vocabulary support as needed. Students with IEPs: apply the accommodations and modifications listed in each student's plan (examples include extended time, graphic organizers, speech-to-text tools, chunked instructions, and visual schedules). Students with attention-related needs: break tasks into short, checklist-driven steps and provide brief movement or focus breaks. Students ready for a challenge: take on a leadership role critiquing peers' work, extend the project with a second iteration, or research how today's skill is used professionally in the field.
